Working with our community
Our community work in Miahuatlán and surrounding towns in Oaxaca has been a crucial part to Viajeros del Mezcal's work. As well as supporting local artisanal mezcal farms, our aim is to give back to the community and support local NGOs in the area.
From cultural exchange projects in local schools, to volunteering at after school clubs and in elderly homes, we have the privilege of helping people within the community from all walks of life and ages.
We continue to work closely with our local Red Cross, which has led us to collect funds for the charity and provide further education on what should be done if an earthquake occurs.

In the last two years, we have achieved
600
Trees planted
We are proud to have prioritised tree planting in the Miahuatlán area and have surpassed our target of 500 tress planted in two years
55
Classroom visits
One of our most favoured days from volunteers is when we get to visit local schools. We have visited a total of five schools in Oaxaca, at both middle and high school levels. From taking part in school exchanges, teaching and general volunteering days, our classroom visits are always a fun day.
4
Agave producers
We have focused our efforts on volunteering for 4 artisanal agave producers. Our work includes weeding, planting, harvesting and trimming agaves.
